REFLECTION
EXPERIENCE:
It was a roller coaster ride for me over these 14 weeks. I was first concerned because we just had a basic knowledge of typography. I've gotten a better understanding of typography after numerous attempts, feedback, and corrections. It was a challenging module, but I'm glad I was able to cope it. Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul's feedbacks and input have enriched my overall learning experience. It was fantastic to be in a large class since we were able to learn from one other by sharing our thoughts and ideas. As a result, I'm more motivated to learn and to grow.
OBSERVATION:
I realized that learning through theories is insufficient. We must be able to apply them to designs. We need to be able to use them in our designs and improve our abilities to analyze design elements. This step is crucial for us to become more detail-oriented so that we can learn from our mistakes and avoid repeating them. After completing this subject, I've begun to pay more attention to typography in my daily life especially the packaging of products. I started to appreciate font designs a lot more. Typography is so much more than simply words, and I admire every design process that leads to a fantastic piece of art.
FINDINGS:
Self-discipline is crucial, especially while taking online classes. I discovered that the amount of time and effort we put into any work is proportional to the outcome. As a result, we needed to manage our time well, which included updating our E-portfolio and learning from pre-recorded lectures. In addition, this subject is great where it allow us to learn new software such as InDesign, Fontlab and creating Telegram stickers. I had not anticipated learning so much in my first semester. I believed this was only the beginning of a long journey and I'm hoping that my design will continue to improve as time goes.
