LECTURE:
Introducing After Effects//Adobe After Effects is commonly used for animation, visual effects and motion picture compositing. After Effects is used in film, TV and web video creation. This software is used in the post-production phase and has hundreds of effects that can be used to manipulate imagery. This allows combining the layers of video and images into the same scene. Motion graphics animation works by manipulating vector and rasterized a to create and tell a story. All the layer elements need to be organized and synchronized to the external software platforms. After Effects files does not embed its media, it links to it.

Below are the given still image that we are required to edit it with After Effects to come out some thing interesting. This composition consist of a typewriter, a fencer, a shark and projector.

As continue exploring different effects and animation, I had an idea of creating a simple game type animation of the 2 player of a fencer and the shark. So I started to create a scene for that.

REFLECTION:
It was a fun exercise by turning the still photo into something interesting. By adding tiny details, changing the position, opacity and scale, it helps to create motion and movement. This is my first experience animating with After Effects, it was quite challenging as the typeface and tools are much more complicated compared to Photoshop and Illustrator. Therefore, I watched extra online tutorials on Youtube and research to get familiarize myself with the software. After exploring and experimenting, I somehow understood how it works. However, there are thousands and more cool effects that can be done by After Effects which makes me excited to learn about it in the future.
