Digital Photography and Imaging // Exercise 1
LECTURE:
It was our first day of class, we met Mr. Fauzi and Mr. Martin. They briefed us on the module and introduce us to Digital Photography & Imaging. I was so excited to learn about the module. I am impressed by past student's works and e-portfolio and I hope I can create awesome artwork like them in the upcoming projects. Besides, we have been taught about the Google Classroom platform to submit our task and assignment. Mr. Fauzi also shared with us handy tips to label and organize art files or folders in a systematic order for the projects. We were told to look for old magazines, brochure or newspaper to prepare physical photo collage elements for the upcoming exercise.
I have fun exploring the feature in Blogger. I also did a simple logo as my icon.
EXERCISE 1 :
List 3 favourite graphic design work from Pinterest. Explain why you like the designs?
Figure 2.1 "Pressure" graphic by Magdiel Lopez
I love how this graphic portrays the emotions and tells the story behind them through surrealism. A man full of the pressure of what he went through in life, an innocent child was trying to comfort him by covering his eye and pad on his shoulder. The cloud portrays the desire of the man to a peaceful and stress-free mind. This was emphasized by tiny birds flying freely in the air and the colour gradient of the sky which creates a great contrast with the portrait.
The idea of this graphic composition is very interesting. At the first glance, it may look complicated with different sizes of human picture cuts. After compiling, it gives unity to the poster and some parts are highlighted to portray the character of each person. Overall, I like the choice of colour and style which gives a mysterious atmosphere in this design.
I like the way you manage your blog Janice. Very informative and simplify. Keep it up!
