Professional Development Week

The Professional Development Week prepared by Taylor's was to help us understand working and industry life better through various workshops. The workshops I attended were:

1. "Financial Literacy for Fresh Graduates" by Allianz
2.  Keynote: "Career Readiness & Employability Success: 10 Quick Top Tips That Will Help Graduates Get Hired" by MBSB BANK
3. "Succeeding in a Multi-Role Creative Media Industry" by WSVS STUDIO
4. "Best Practices in LinkedIn & Professional Online Etiquette" by PwC.
5. "Networking & Personal Branding" by WOLF TRAINER.
6. "The Storyteller & Super-Producer: Lessons from the Creative Media Industry" by C47 CREATIVE.

Reflecting on the insights shared about career growth and personal development, I find myself inspired to reevaluate my approach toward my professional and creative journey. This career development week highlighted the importance of financial planning, technical and soft skills, and leadership qualities, alongside the essence of leadership qualities, which resonated deeply with me. The first workshop by Allianz was a very interesting and resourceful sharing. Prior to this discussion, I hadn’t fully grasped the impact of financial planning. Now, I realize the importance of responsible financial management and I am more prepared to take charge of my financial responsibilities, and meticulously plan for my needs, wants, and savings to secure a stable future.

Besides, the workshop by MBSB BANK highlighted the rules of work-life integration, time management, and financial management providing practical frameworks for balancing my personal and professional life. The concept of the 6Fs (fate, financial freedom, family, fitness, friends) underscores the importance of holistic well-being and prompts me to consider these aspects in my decision-making process.
I really enjoyed the workshop from Reuben Chen (Wolf Trainer) on professional online etiquette, networking, and personal branding have enlightened me on the tips for effective communication and relationship-building. Learning to genuinely connect with others, actively listen, and find common ground are skills that I aim to develop further. The advice on handling social situations, including dealing with interruptions and politely exiting conversations, equips me with valuable tools for navigating social interactions.

Furthermore, the lessons from the creative industry emphasize the significance of confidence, self-motivation, continuous learning, and resilience. Embracing mistakes as part of the learning process and understanding the value of one's unique perspective are empowering concepts that encourage me to embrace my individuality and creativity. I have realized the importance of finding the purpose of doing things.

In conclusion, this wealth of knowledge has helped me to reassess my goals, refine my skills, and approach opportunities through my personal development journey. As I move forward, I am inspired to apply these lessons and continue to evolve both personally and professionally.
